WALNUT, Calif. -- The 2025 cross country season kicked off with a bang at the Fastback Invite, where Arroyo High School made a dominant statement with a clean sweep of all four team titles.
Team Results
Both the boys and girls teams from Arroyo High School (Southern Section) swept the team 2025 Fastback team titles in all four races on this two-mile course. The girls team scored a total of 15 points and the boys team finished with a total of 18 points to win their respective Junior/Senior races. As for the girls Freshmen/Sophomore race, they scored a total of 24 points and the boys Freshmen/Sophomore race results total points amounted to 22.
Girls Junior/Senior Race
Mandy Huang, a junior from Arroyo High School took the win in a time of 13:26.6. Her teammate, Analis Bautista was a close second, finishing in 13:28.6. These two led the Arroyo Bulldogs to the team title.
Boys Junior/Senior Race
Yariel Figueroa De Pena from Arroyo was the first across the line in a time of 10:47.0, just ahead of his teammate Mason Olvera who finished in 10:47.8. Similar to the Arroyo girls squad, these two boys led the Bulldogs to capture the team title.
Girls Freshmen/Sophomore Race
El Monte's Aneleah Ledesma, a sophomore, took first place in a time of 14:12.2. Close on her heels was the Arroyo sophomore, Andrea Garcia who ran 14:13.6. El Monte had two runners in the top three with Gabriela Najera placing third.
Boys Freshmen/Sophomore Race
Giovanni Dominguez, a sophomore from Arroyo scoured the course in a time of 11:48.5. Right behind him, Diego Paniagua, a sophomore from El Monte finished in 11:50.9. Notably, Ricky Hernandez took third place, running 12:09.0 in his freshman debut for the Arroyo Bulldogs.
