Ian Cumming/Tim Latham Invitational Preview
The 2025 Ian Cumming/Tim Latham Invite will take place on Friday, September 5th, 2025, hosted by Sweetwater High School. This meet will be held at Rohr Park in Chula Vista.

"This meet will be a combination of what was once Mustang Invitational and South Bay Invitational," says meet director Julian Valdez.

These 2-, 2.5-, and 3.1-mile courses consist mainly of dirt and grass with a little bit of asphalt and concrete. The meet will begin at 2pm with the first race of the day, the Boy’s Junior Varsity Mustang Division Race.

Girl’s 2.5 Mile Varsity Mustangs Division

The Scripps Ranch and Mt. Carmel squads look to have another strong showing. Scripps Ranch HS put 5 runners in the top 15 at the blazing hot Bronco Roundup on August 23rd to win the team over runner up Mt. Carmel. The Mt. Carmel Sun Devils had three individual finishers in the top 4.

Olivia Campos appears to be the favorite going into the girls 2.5 mile Varsity with her two teammates, Isabella Mayer and Veronica Bell on her heels. Riley Martin will be looking to improve upon her finish at Bronco Roundup against the Mt. Carmel girls trio.

Girl’s 2.5 Mile Varsity Red Devil’s Division

Mater Dei Catholic’s squad is the pre-race favorite against the likes of Calexico HS, Sweetwater HS, Maranatha Christian, Mar Vista, Mission Bay HS, Montgomery, Pacific Ridge, and San Ysidro HS.

Boy’s 3.1 Mile Varsity Mustangs Division

Mt. Carmel took the team win in the boy’s Bronco Roundup D1 race, this puts them as the favorites over Scripps Ranch as they will face off again here.

Jaxon Northcutt was the individual champion out of Bronco Roundup by an astounding 13 seconds in front of his teammate Quentin Fronjian. Both of these Mt. Carmel Sun Devils will be pursuing a continued dominance over the rest of the field.

Boy’s 3.1 Mile Varsity Red Devil’s Division

It will be a battle for the Boy’s Red Devils Division championship both on the team and individual side. Some of the schools competing are Canyon Hills HS, Mater Dei Catholic HS, Christian, Maranatha Christian, Mission Bay, Orange Glen, and Montgomery to name a few.
