Clovis Invitational Recap

Girls Team Championship

The J Serra Catholic Lions took care of business at the 2025 Clovis Invite winning with a total of 137 points and impressively put all five scoring runners in the top 50 individually. In second place was Buchanan High School with 233 points. Rounding out the top three was Santiago (Corona) with 346 points.

Aelo Curtis (10/11/2025)

The fastest time of the meet was run by Aelo Curtis, a senior out of Ventura HS, who won the individual title in a time of 16:44.5 over the 5k course. In second was Summer Wilson of Irvine High School. She ran 16:57.2. Curtis and Wilson ran in the Saturday Championship race. In third, from Palo Alto HS, was who ran a time of 17:03.8 in the Friday Championship race.

Boys Team Championship

Jesuit High School was the team champion at the 2025 Clovis Invite, winning with a total of 154 points. In second place was Herriman High School with 216 points. Rounding out the top three was Woodbridge HS with 343 points.

Boys Individual

Jackson Spencer (#1981) and Maximo Zavaleta (#2649) lead at 1 mile (10-11-2025)

Jackson Spencer from Herriman High School in Utah ran a blazing time of 14:16.9 to take the win by over 25 seconds. Spencer's finish time was an all-time course record for the Woodward Park 5k course taking down the 14:24.0 previous record by famed German Fernandez (11/24/2007). Maximo Zavaleta of Martin Luther King HS ran 14:44.8 to place second. In third place overall, Olly O'Connor of Viewpoint HS, ran 14:47.5 in the Friday Championship race. All three boys are in the midst of their senior year cross country campaigns.
